AROUND ANNAPURNA

This trek encircles the famous Annapurna massif and offers an overwhelming view from the sub tropical plains in the Himalayan foothills, through the Trans-Himalayan, Manang and Mustang region. Breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and the Throng-La Pass (5416m) are the highlights of this trek.

ITINERARY
    Day 01 ARRIVAL

    Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

    Day 02 KATHMANDU

    Half-day sight seeing of Kathmandu valley. Sightseeing places are: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Rest of the day preparing for Around Annapurna Trek.

    Day 03 BESI SAHAR TO BAHUNDANDA

    Drive to Besi Sahar early morning. Trekking from Besi Sahar on a plateau at 820m to Bahundanda (1310m) requires passing through Khundi (790m), Bhamlbule (830m) and Nagdi (880m). The route is in a northeast direction. Bahundada is the northernmost Brahman settlement in the Marsyangdi valley.

    Day 04: CHARJE

    Charje (1430m) is north west to Bahundada . The rock occurs along the east barn of the Marsyangdi valley till Syarge (1190m) from where the trail north to Jagat (1250m)and Charje occurs along the west bank of the Marsyangdi.

    Day 05: BAGARCHHAP

    From Charje onwards, the trek continues along the east bank of the Miyardi Khola. After crossing Tal (1675m), the trail shifts to west bank of the Miyardi Khola upto Karte subsequently, Dharapani (1920m) and Bagarchhap (2160m)are reached. At Bagerchhap, some Himalayan peaks like Lamjung Himal (6986m) and Annapurna II (7937m) can be seen.

    Day 06: CHAME

    Chame (2630m) lies northwest to Bagerchhap after traversing Lattemarang (2360m) and Katho (2590m). Besides being the administrative headquarters of Manang District, Chame also offers views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and Annapurna IV (7525m).

    Day 07: PISANG

    Trekking along the east bank of the Marsyandi Khola leads to Pisang (3190m), situated north-west from Chame. En route is Bhratang, a village at an altitude of 2840 meters.

    Day 08: MANANG

    Manang (3500m) lies further northwest of Pisang. Hongde (3325m) serves as Manang 's air field. Further northwest, Mungji (3360m), and Bryaga (3475m) are some villages before reaching Manang.

    Day 09: MANANG

    Sepending a day in Manang is recommended before trekking further where higher elevations will be encountered. The day is used for sightseeing around Manang.

    Day 10: LETDAR

    From Manang, the trek continues is a northwest direction to Letdar (4250m). The trailcrosses Tengri (3620m) and Gunsang (3930m).

    Day 11: THORUNG PHEDI

    Throng Phedi is situated towards the northwest and lies at on altitude of 4420m.

    Day 12: MUKTINATH

    The route from Throng Phedi to Muktinath is marked with high elevation and the chance, of snow especially is December and January. Prior to reaching Muktinath requires passing Through Throng-la pass (5416m), from where the views of the Himalayans are outstanding. The trail descends steadily until reaching Muktinath (3800m).

    Day 13: KAGBENI

    Kagbeni lies at 2810m. Proceeding north leads to Mustang, although tourists cannot travel there without proper documentation.

    Day 14: MARPHA

    The route from Kagbeni to Marpha (2665m), passes through Thakali villages on the way. Marpha has monasteries and here the climate is better than Jomsom, situated northeast.

    Day 15: KALOPANI

    The Kalopani offers spectacular views of Dhaulaghiri, and Annapurna I, among others.

    Day 16: TATOPANI

    Tatopani lies to to the northwest of Ghorapani. Its name is derived from the hot springs near the river below the village. This place offers many facilities for the trekkers and is known for its mandarin oranges.

    Day 17: GHOREPANI

    Poon Hill (3210m) which is an hour's treks from Ghorapani, provides a clean view of the Himalayan and famous place to observe sunrise and sunset.

    Day 18: TIKEDHUNGA

    Trek down from Ghorepani to Tikedhunga

    Day 19: NAYA PUL TO POKHARA

    After reaching Naya Pul, drive to Pokhara.

    Day 20: POKHARA

    Pokhara sight seeing: Devi's fall, Mahendra cave, Seti River Gorge, Bindabasini Temple, Tibetean Refugee Camp and Boating in Fewa Lake.

    Day 21: KATHMANDU

    After breakfast take a flight to Kathmandu which is 30 minutes flight. Upon arrival receive and transfer to the hotel. Sight seeing in Kathmandu valley. Sight seeing places are Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambunath, Budanilkanth and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

    Day 22: KATHMANDU

    Day in leisure or shopping.

    Day 23: DEPARTURE

    Departure as per flight schedule after breakfast.
