ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TREKKING

Duration: 18 Days
Difficulty: Medium
Maximum Elevation: 4095 meters
Season: March / April / May / September / October / November / December

This is highly recommendable trek bringing one to the base camp of Annapurna. This route provides an interesting variety, ranging from lowland villages to outstanding high mountains. The route passes through picturesque Gurung villages, fields and forests.

ITINERARY
    Day 01 ARRIVAL

    Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

    Day 02 KATHMANDU

    Half-day sight seeing of Kathmandu valley. Sightseeing places are: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Rest of the day preparing for the trek to Annapurna Base Camp.

    Day 03 POKHARA

    Transfer to Pokhara at 0800 hrs after breakfast. Drive to Pokhara is 6 to 7 hrs. On the way we stop for lunch break. Upon arrival check in hotel.

    Day 04 PHEDI TO TOLKA

    Early morning after breakfast drive to Phedi. A day's walk (In a north- west direction) from Phedi (1180m) Tolha (1810m) passes through numerous hamlets. The trail includes views of Annapurna south. Tolka and small furents is a tiny settlement with good accommodation facilities.

    Day 05: CHHOMRONG

    Going northwards through forests, streams, and fields we come across Gurung villages like Landruk (1620m), Naya Pul (1340m) and Jhinu Danda (1750m) before the trail bends west towards Chhomrong. Chhomrong, a Gurung village, has two parts Old Chhomrong (2060m) and New Chhomrong (2040m).

    Day 06: BAMBOO LODGE

    The trek now proceeds in the north-east direction along the western bank of the Modi Khola river. Bamboo Lodge is at an altitude of 2340meters

    Day 07: HIMALAYA

    Himalaya (2900m) lies a little northeast to the Bamboo Lodge after a steep climb through Bamboo and Rhododendron forests.

    Day 08: MACHHAPUCHHARE BASE CAMP (MBC)

    Trekking from Himalaya to Machhapuchhare Base camp (3720m) passes through Himko (3160m), Deurali (3230m) and Bagar (3310m). The trail crosses ravines, major avalanche tracks, moraines and streams. The mountain views from Machhapuchhare Base camp are strependons; the panorama includes Hinchuli, Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m) Gangapurna (7454m) and Machhapuchhare (6997m).

    Day 09: ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (ABC)

    Trekking to ABC (4095m) takes about two hours we will start the trek in the morning.

    Day 10: DEURALI

    Descend down to Deurali normally takes a day.

    Day 11: DOBAN

    Doban is situated between Himalayan Hotel and Bamboo Lodge.

    Day 12: CHHOMRONG

    Return to Chhomrong in the southwest from Doban

    Day 13: GHANDRUK

    This is the fastest route when returning to Pokhara. When returning to Ghandruk from Chhomrong we pass from Kaummnu, and Ulri.

    Day 14: NAYA PUL

    The journey from Ghandruk to Naya Pul follows the southeast direction of the Modi Khola River. The walk takes for about 5 hours. We take our vechiles waiting for us from Naya Pul to Pokhara.

    Day 15: POKHARA

    Pokhara sight seeing: Devi's fall, Mahendra cave, Seti River Gorge, Bindabasini Temple, Tibetean Refugee Camp and Boating in Fewa Lake.

    Day 16: KATHMANDU

    After breakfast take a flight to Kathmandu which is 30 minutes flight. Upon arrival receive and transfer to the hotel. Sight seeing in Kathmandu valley. Sight seeing places are Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambunath, Budanilkanth and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

    Day 17: KATHMANDU

    Day in leisure or shopping.

    Day 18: DEPARTURE

    Departure as per flight schedule after breakfast.
