TIBET OVERLAND TOUR (Drive in Fly out or Fly in Drive out)
Day 01 Saturday
Kathmandu - Zhangmu (2,300M) 123 kms Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Kodari. After doing immigration and custom formalities drive uphill to Zhangmu Immigration Post. Complete custom formalities. Overnight at Hotel Zhangmu.
Day 02 Sunday
Zhangmu - Xegar ( 4,350m ) 244 kms Drive Xegar crossing Nyalamu pass (3,800m) and Lalung la pass (5,050m). This drive offers fantastic view of the high mountain including Mount Everest (8,848m) Overnight at Hotel Xegar.
Day 03 Monday
Xegar - Xigatse ( 3,900m ) 244 kms Drive to Xigatse (8 hrs drive). Xigatse has the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama. Overnight stay at Hotel Xigatse.
Day 04 Tuesday
Xigatse - Gyantse ( 3,900m) 90 kms In the morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the free market of Xigatse. In the afternoon drive to Gyantse and visit Phalkor Monastery and Khumbum Stupa. Overnight at Hotel Gyantse.
Day 05 Wednesday
Gyantse - Lhasa ( 3,650m ) 259 kms The drive to Lhasa takes 08hours, crossing 2 passes The Karola (5,010m) and Kambala ( 4,794m ) pass and Yamdrok Tso Lake. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 06/07 Thrusday/Friday
Sightseeing tour of Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Barkhor Bazzar.
Day 08 Saturday
Transfer to Gonggar airport for your onward flight to Kathmandu.
