MT. KAILASH TOUR (Fifteen Days)
We begin the tour by traveling to Kathmandu and departing by road to the Nepal/Tibet border town of Zhangmu (religious or secular) return by the route. The day to day program is outlined as follows:
01 Day
Drive to Kathmandu (1,303 m.) to Kodari. Trek 8 km. Tour Zhangmu 9,2220 m.) overnight at Zhangmu hotel.
02 Day
Drive form Zhangmu to Mala (4,000 m.) via Menhating and Tonga pass (4,990 m.) overnight in camp.
03 Day
Drive from Mala to saga (4,840 m.) crossing the river Yarlung Tsangpo by ferry. From Saga drive to Tsangpo(4,500 m.) and break camp in between Baryang (4,550 m.) and Tsongpa. Overnight stay in camp.
04 Day
Drive on further towards Mayumla pass (4,900m ) and stay for Overnight near the riverbanks. Overnight stay at camp.
05 Day
Cross the Mayumla pass (4,900 m.) and stay for overnight camp.
06 Day
Day free for rest, purification bath in the holy lake, etc. Overnight stay at camp.
07 Day
Drive to Darchen (4,700 m.). Overnight stay at hotel in Darchen or in tents.
08 Day
Start trek around Mt. Kailash (6,656 m). overnight stay at tent.
09 Day
Trek and cross the Dormala pass 5,600 m. Overnight stay in tents.
10 Day
Trek and return to Darchen, nights in tents.
11 Day
Starts return journey by driving up to Samsang. Overnight stay in tents.
12 Day
Drive form Samsang to Tsongpa overnight stay in tents.
13 Day
Drive from Tsongpa to Saga or Mala Overnight stay in tents.
14 Day
Drive from Saga or Mala to Zhangmu. Overnight stay at Zhangmu hotel.
15 Day
Trek 8 kms. to Kodari and drive to Kathmandu.
